Grab your bestie and pack your suitcase for this last minute opportunity that everyone's been asking for. Our bus will transport you to SeaTac airport from our normal pick up locations for a direct afternoon flight to Montana where our company bus will be waiting for you to begin your journey through America's Heartland. Overnight in Billings.  D

Sep 1st   Historic Fort Phil Kearny, Labor Day Picnic, Devil's Tower and evening in the Wild West Town of Deadwood

Begin your day at historic Fort Phil Kearny. The staff in the Interpretive Center will introduce you to the history of the Indian Wars and Bozeman Trail guiding you through the Fort diorama that depicts, to scale, the complete fort as it would have looked in the fall of 1866. Then enter the original site, through reconstructed stockade walls, and experience the expansive grounds of the largest stockaded fort in the west. Our special lunch stop at the Frontier Auto Museum includes an opportunity to explore 13,000 sq ft of Americana. It features restored classic cars, beautiful neon signs, rare porcelain signs, gas pumps galore, and much more. Each unique room is filled with artifacts from America's Golden Age. While you're exploring, they will be grilling you up some a Labor Day picnic of Brats, sides and creamy shakes. and the will prepare for you gourmet brats and shakes at their café. Just down the road is Devils Tower National Monument. Rising out of the prairie that surrounds the nearby Black Hills, it is an astounding geological feature to behold. At 867 feet from its base to its summit, the mountain is about the size of a football field! On our way , we will check out the new Circle of Sacred Smoke Sculpture, the first of seven planned and Prairie Dog Town, home to over 600 residents. Check into our Deadwood hotel for a Wild West evening. From 6:00pm to 8:00pm re-enactors will be roaming the streets and bars. You'll experience tomfoolery, shot-outs and even the trial of Tom McCraw. Gaming is legal here, so continue the party by trying your luck in one of the casinos after the events. B,L

Sep 2nd  Custer State Park Wildlife Loop, Crazy Horse Monument and Evening Lighting Ceremony at Mount Rushmore

Travel through 18 miles of open grasslands and pine-speckled hills that much of Custer State Park's wildlife calls home. Keep eyes peeled for bison, pronghorn, whitetail and mule deer, elk, coyotes, burros, prairie dogs, eagles, hawks, and a variety of birds that are rarely found together in one location at any other place. A medley of colorful wildflowers and prairie grasses surround the road, making for a picturesque drive; and the landscape changes throughout your trip, Make a lunch stop at Crazy Horse Laughing Waters restaurant (great fry bread) and then visit the The Indian Museum of North America, home to a large collection of art and artifacts reflecting the diverse histories and cultures of over 300 Native Nations, view the memorial and visit the gift shop. Check in early to your Hill City hotel. The charming village has shopping and dining just a short walk away including the famous Alpine Inn. We will depart at 7:00pm Mt Rushmore and the evening lighting ceremony. It includes a ranger talk, a patriotic film, the lighting of the monument and a tribute to veterans. B

 Sep 3rd   Epic Pit Stops on your South Dakota Road Trip... Wall Drugs, Minuteman Missile Historic Site, Corn Palace & More!

Stop at one of the world’s most well-known tourist attractions, Wall Drugs. It’s hard to believe it got its start with the promise of free ice water. It’s the perfect stop for kitschy souvenirs, plus you can still get free ice water and 5-cent coffee! The Cold War was the defining historical event of the last half of the 20th century. It led to fear, panic, and distrust symbolized by a nuclear arms race between the United States and the Soviet Union. Minuteman Missile National Historic Site consists of three sites along a fifteen-mile stretch of Interstate 90. Stop for a curator talk about The World's Only Corn Palace. The 2025 theme "Wonders of the World" front murals will be complete! The Corn Palace is decorated annually using 12 different colors of corn, each framed with native grasses, straw, milo, and sourdock. A team of approximately 20 workers changes out the murals every year. So many pull out and surprises to make this the iconic South Dakota road trip. B

Sep 4th   Field of Dreams Movie Site, Amana Colonies & Truck Stop

“The Field of Dreams Movie Site” in Dyersville. Filming location of the iconic 1989 baseball film. You’ll explore the famous baseball field and maybe even get a selfie throwing the pitch to home plate. We will also take guided tours of the Kinsella family Farmhouse featured in the movie, providing an immersive experience that takes visitors back in time. If you prefer an alternative activity, we will drop you at the National Farm Toy Museum nearby. Off for lunch at the Amana Colonies, a historic German communal living society and a National Landmark. Here you will find historic structures stuffed with dining options and shops filled with handcrafts and specialty food items. As we head for our hotel this evening, Harold will make a stop at the World's Biggest Truck Stop. B

Sep 5th   Mississippi Riverboat Cruise & TVs "American Pickers" and it's all about the Deere (tractors)

Founded in 2000, Antique Archaeology is the home of the hit tv show, American Pickers. Just a short walk from our hotel, you can shop for vintage items, antique collectibles, souvenirs, and unique one-of-a-kind gifts. The shop also houses part of Mike's personal collection, including rare motorcycles & antiques you won't see anywhere else" Now experience this part of the Mississippi on a Captain’s Narrated Lunch Cruise. It features a hot lunch buffet which is prepared fresh onboard. You'll ll take in some of the historical sights of the Quad City, cruise by the Rock Island Arsenal and Lock and Dam #15 with the largest roller dam in the world. The Captain will hare the the history and facts the area. After lunch continue to the original historical site of the John Deere farm equipment company for a tour, visit to the blacksmith shop, and stop at the Pavilion and gift store. B,L

Sep 6th   Return flight to Seattle or stay in Chicago and fly home Sunday

Grab breakfast at the hotel as we head to O’Hara Airport in Chicago for our Non-Stop flight back to Seattle at 12:05pm. You should be back to your original departure locations about 4:30pm or stay and extra night with David in Chicago and spend two days with a hop on, hop off tour bus pass and tickets for the narrated architectural river cruise. Fly home Sunday. Additional fees will apply for this add-on based on current airfare. B
