Astoria celebrates their Scandinavian heritage with mid-summer fest that includes music, dance, and fun. Retail booths offer handcrafts, imported items, and traditional snacks. In fact, this event takes up the entire fairgrounds! At 4:00pm take your seat for the optional Viking Feast. A buffet laden with: Danish Pork Roulade, Danish Ham with Cream Sauce, Swedish Meatballs in Brown Cream Gravy, Medister Polse (Norwegian Pork Sausage), Braised Red Cabbage, Janneson’s Temptation (a traditional Swedish casserole), Garden Salad, Danish Smørrebrød (Open-Faced Sandwiches), Nordic Cheeses, Fresh Baked Bread and Crisps, Cookies and Pastries. Or grab dinner at one of the many food vendors on site. The Parade of Nations is at 5:00pm and we return home following this event.
