Interested in renewable energy? Then join this educational trip to the Wild Horse Wind Farm near Ellensburg. The farm has 149 colossal wind turbines and fields of solar panels. The tour will start at the Puget Sound Energy Renewable Energy Center. From here, put on your safety gear and take a 60-minute guided walking tour to get up close to the giant wind turbine blades, view the turbine generator and gearbox, and you’ll even be able to look inside the base of an active wind turbine! Before our tour, harness some energy of your own at a no host lunch at a charming gas station turned local diner. Fresh cherries should be in the fruit stands. On our return, stop in Cle Ellum at Owen’s Meats and the famous bakery.
